Senator Gen Olson and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invite you to an informational meeting to present information and answer questions on the proposed aquatic plant management rule changes.
This will be your best opportunity to have the proposed rules explained to you by the DNR and have your questions answered.
Proposed rule changes include:
Reducing the amount of submersed aquatic plant control allowed in waters adjacent to a property’s shoreline.
Sunsetting the “grandfather clause” in five years, which has allowed Carson’s and St. Louis Bays of Lake Minnetonka to exceed lake-wide limits of pesticide control on aquatic plants.
Providing criteria for determining when variances are necessary to control invasive aquatic plants.
We hope that you will be able to attend the upcoming meeting. If you are planning to attend please email MHL at info@mnhealthylakes.org or call us at 651-265-7840 to let us know that you will be attending. MHL board members will attend the meeting as well and would enjoy meeting with you to discuss our work opposing these proposed rules. www.mnhealtylakes.org

We know this video has been around for a while, but in light of soaring gas prices this summer it peaked our attention. It of course sounds too good to be true and some say it’s a gimmick while others say the guy who invented the thing has since been killed off by the oil companies. What do you think? Does anyone have any update on this story? We did track down the website for this inventor and found a real phone number and called them. We talked to a real person who insists it’s for real and that some kind of product will be forthcoming in 2009. She also insisted the inventor is not dead! What say you?
