LD: How did you get started in the real estate business?
Beale: My dad was looking for lake property and he was surprised at how difficult the process was. When he finally found a lot, he set about trying to find ways to make the process easier. He began to invest in a few local properties and sell them. Eventually that grew into our company, Sandstone Shoreline Properties. I followed my dad into the business. He needed someone to handle the sales end of things so I came on board.
LD: What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of your job?
Beale: Deciding on what the customer wants. Do they want to be on a beach, or in the woods? Do they want to be near a city? How much driving do they want to do? Do they want a big lake, or a small lake? Sometime clients don't know what they really want and finding that out can prove to be a challenge. I try to show them as much property as I can to help them. Most of my clients are very busy and might not have a lot of time, but I try to take as much time showing them properties as they are willing to take.
LD: What do you find is the most rewarding part of your job?
Beale: I enjoy it when the family builds their new house and move in. The kids are playing in the yard, and they really get to enjoy what they have built. Sometimes, when I'm in the area walking lots, I check in on them. They are so excited and real proud. Sometimes they give me a tour of their place. I really get a kick out of seeing that.

LD: Are there any new developments in the works?
Beale: It's pretty quiet here right now. Most of the land around here has already been developed. There were a few in the works, but they have already been declined.
