Bring your own boat, or rent ski-boats, fishing boats, pontoons, or jet skis… or even just paddle around in a canoe or kayak. It’s all there!
Life jackets, water skis, tubes, and knee boards are all available with your boat rental.
Gas is for sale right on the lake Just pull your boat up and they will fill it for you. If fishing is more your style, they’ve got fishing poles, bait and tackle for a nominal fee, and fishing guides are available to assist you in finding the area’s fishing “Hot Spots”.
Or, if all that sounds like too much activity and you’re really serious about relaxing, you can always take a leisurely cruise around Lake Darling, but make your reservations early. These cruises are popular, and space is limited!
Equestrian
Enjoy some of the finest horseback riding Minnesota has to offer. The resort’s 30-horse stable with riding ring and walking trails is one of the favorite amenities. Plus, there are scenic 45-minute guided trail ride every hour, and lead-arounds and riding lessons are available for smaller cowhands. For a more romantic setting, try a horse drawn hay ride and horse drawn sleigh ride when it snows.
Try your hand at cookie decorating, or making crafts to take home. Or, if the weather permits, you can enjoy a campfire and marshmallow roast.
Winter Activities
Enjoy ice fishing in the comfort of fish houses that accommodates up to four people, and are equipped with lights, propane heat, chairs, cards, and “rattle wheels.” And, if you call ahead, the staff will have the holes open for you and the house heated.
There’s opportunity for ice skating not only on the freshwater pond, but when the ice thickens, also in the rink and broomball rink on Lake Darling in front of the hotel.
The Snow Center sledding hill is for all ages to enjoy. Sleds are available at no charge, or you may bring your own.
For more adventurous downhill skiing, tubing, and snowboarding, or to take lessons, you can enjoy Alexandria’s ski area, Andes Tower Hills, just 17 miles from Arrowwood. Andes has 15 downhill runs for everyone from beginner to expert, and Arrowwood offers discounted ski lift tickets to guests.
